News 09/30

Heya Gamers!

It's that time of the week again where I take way too much time to write a newsletter after procrastinating it until way late in the evening! First off though, I'd like to take a moment to welcome and thank all of our new members who showed up and gave a damn at our booth for club day today! So here goes;

"Thank you, and welcome!"

Whew! Glad we got that outta the way! Now it's time for...

Gamers Club News

As many of you already know, today was Club Day, and boy howdy was it a good one! With a rather modest display we were able to grab the attention of several new gamers and let them know, ' Hey! We exist!' It was awesome fun and a thanks goes out to several existing members who helped with setup and breakdown. I wanted to take a moment to personally thank our VP Travis Heppner for really stepping it up by running our table outside in the cold fall air. If you see Travis walking around or at one of our events, give him a pinch, he likes that!

Anyways, so we had our first meeting last week and got a lot of work done! We scheduled out our Game Days for the next month and started planning some of our larger events slated for later this year! Also many of our new members came to us with some really great ideas for other future events as well! This year is already shaping up to be something special, and I'm really impressed with the new directions and initiative the club is displaying this early in the school year. So let's keep up the good work and really put the club on the map this year!

Here's the schedule for the month of Oct as it stands now. More details to follow and dates/times/locations are tentative.

10/02 - Game Day Halo ODST
10/09 - Game Day Wii Sports & Resort
10/16 - Game Day Racing Games
10/23 - Game Day Board Games
10/29 - Halloween Party
10/30 - Game Day Scary Games

Be sure to always check the events calender either on Xfire or our website because details can change at any moment!

During our meeting, we also held officer elections for the year. Here were the results:

President
: Drew Spilker
Vice President: Travis Heppner
Secretary: Kay Fort
Advertising Secretary: Dorian Nabors
Treasurer: John Mjelde
Webmaster: Peter Hire
Club Rep: Micheal Jacobson

Congratulations guys (and gals)! You're the backbone of our awesomeness!

Well, that's about all the stamina I have for writing about crap you all already know. I'm calling it a night right now, and I'm sure when you're getting this, you'll be calling it a morning. I'll seeya 'round the campus and at our Game Day for ODST this Friday! Till next week gamers; goodnight and GODSPEED! (Godspeed engaged, engines are nominal, entering Godspeed mode: Booop bwooop BweeeeeOMFG I'M TIRED...)

G'night everyone
